Both comfortable and pretty, the Oxford skirt is the perfect base for a back-to-school outfit. It adapts easily to different temperatures, as it can be worn with or without tights, and can be sewn all year round in increasingly thicker fabrics.

For mid-season and back-to-school, you can choose a cotton canvas or a fine, supple woollen fabric. To keep your child perfectly in tune with the latest trends, you can choose a tartan woollen fabric with colorful stripes.

The design is simple and infinitely customizable: sew on a contrasting pocket, vary the color of the drawstrings… You can make several of these for a stress-free back-to-school.

If you’re looking for a more girly style, with a pretty contrasting cotton claudine collar, you can also sew the Niki des Patronnes sweatshirt.

To have a good back-to-school season, it’s important to feel comfortable in your clothes! To make sure the kids have freedom of movement, we can sew our Chambarand pants with elasticated waistband and drawstring for a neat finish.

A plaid shirt

The flannel check shirt, inspired by the famous Canadian shirt, is very fashionable this season for children. To sew this piece, choose a plaid cotton flannel. But soft enough to be comfortable to wear and not to have a stiff fall. You can also choose a thin, lightweight wool so that the shirt isn’t too hot for September.

As for patterns, the Droguerie Square de la Roquette pattern can be used to make this garment. However, don’t attempt this project if you’re just starting out. It contains many technical points, such as the collar and cuffs, which can be difficult to get to grips with.
